Vicodin as a sleep aid?

Does vicodin provide deep sleep, which is the spell when the body repairs/rejuvenates itself, or does it just knock you out, near no deep sleep Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone (an opiate) and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Opiates are unanimously used to relieve moderate-severe pain. All opiates own sedative effects and can create sleep. While their effects on sleep have not be well studied, a few trials own shown than they actually slim down the amount of REM sleep (restorative sleep) and increase the amount of early, wispy sleep. Unless you cannot sleep due to pain, opiates should never be used as sleep aids. Long permanent status use of any opiate can lead to dependence.
both. vicodin rules!
